The goal of Ms. Barbara’s ABC Learning Center’s program is to provide a quality environment for children from all ethnic and cultural backgrounds. We provide opportunities for children to unfold and develop their creative growth while encouraging their intellectual, social, emotional and physical growth. We believe the early years of childhood are the most crucial in the lives of individuals. Our aim is to bring about a greater degree of social competence in each child and prepare them for successful school experiences and productive self-sufficient lives.

Children enrolled in our Center are provided with a variety of developmental appropriate activities and experiences in a comfortable and non-competitive environment. We provide a nurturing and stimulating environment. We are geared toward building self-esteem, problem solving, and life skills. We provide each child a feeling of acceptance and encourage them to explore and discover while allowing them to develop at their own pace. We respect children’s feelings and expect them to treat others with respect while learning to communicate feelings in a positive and non-threatening manner.

Our curriculum is designed to meet the individual needs of each child. All classrooms provide planned individual and group activities. The classrooms offer learning activities such as art, music, science, cooking, language development, blocks, dramatic play and outdoor play. These activities are supplemented with field trips and community visitors. Our intention is to create a stronger bond between their home and our Center by working closely with families and children on shared goals and expectations.

The focus of our Center’s staff will be on the physical and emotional well-being and the educational development of the children enrolled.

Parents who chose to enroll their children at our Center will be provided with a variety of resources to better enable them to meet the opportunities and demands they face daily in their role as a parent.
